Effective date: November 2, 2026. Virginia Data Center Watch is operated by Sugar Island, LLC d/b/a Virginia Data Center Watch ("we", "us").

Reading the site

Reading this website needs no account. We do not use advertising or ad-tracking tags. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, and may provide aggregate page-view statistics. We do not use that data to build profiles of visitors.

Paid plans

If you buy a plan, Stripe collects your email address, name, billing address, the localities you list, and your payment details at checkout. We receive your email, name, billing address, plan, the localities you enter, subscription and order identifiers and payment status, and we use them to manage access, calculate tax, send alerts and billing messages, and handle support requests. Card and bank details entered in Stripe Checkout are handled by Stripe; this website does not store full card numbers.

Free digest

The free weekly digest is not open and the site does not collect email addresses for it. We will update this page before we start.

If you email us

If you write to support@virginiadatacenterwatch.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it to answer you, to correct our pages and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our email provider stores these messages.

Service providers

• Stripe: payments, billing, tax calculation and the customer portal.
• Cloudflare: website hosting and security.
• Our email host: receives and stores messages sent to support@virginiadatacenterwatch.com, and sends our replies and subscriber emails.

We share only the information these providers need to do their jobs.

Retention and your requests

We keep information as long as needed for subscriptions, support, billing records and legal recordkeeping (for example, tax records). To ask what we hold about you or to have it corrected or deleted, write to support@virginiadatacenterwatch.com. We may need to verify your identity, and may keep records required for billing or other legal obligations. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals; it is separate from a deletion request.

Sale of information

We do not sell contact information.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the effective date.
